Shopping in Guizhou

Situated in southwestern China, Guizhou province is a beatiful natural park which has plenty of mountains and basins, presenting itself a relief map of fantastic peaks and plateaus. Superb collection of handicrafts with unique ethnic style is of great reputation at home and abroad, for example, batik products, Dafang lacquer ware, masks of Noxi Opera, Maotai liquor and Maoiian (a kind of green tea)

 Shopping in Guiyang

The special local products in Guiyang include Miao silver ornaments, Miao embroideries, batiks, Bonamo dustpan paintings, log art, rare stones, traditional Chinese medicines, etc.

Main Shopping Streets

The main shopping streets in Guiyang are Zhonghua Road, the most bustling street in Yuiyang, Beijing Road which gathers various ethnic works of art and special products, and the Flower and Bird Market in Yangming Road where most of the shops sell flowers, birds, pets, antiques, calligraphic works and paintings. Shixi Commercial Street is the biggest small general merchandise wholesale market and collecting and distributing center in Guizhou Province, where commodities of different grades are available. It is supposed to be the most populous district in Guiyang, especially at two-day weekends, in which there is a sea of people. 

 Shopping in Zunyi

The main special products of Zunyi include Maotain liquor, Dong Liquor, tea, pepers, Chishui sun vinegar, bamboo artworks, slices of tender bamboo shoots, and Red Tour souvenirs. Red Army Street in Zunyi is a famous shopping street of red tourism. 

 Shopping in Anshun

Anshun is very rich in the tourism commodity resources. Its traditional artworks include batiks, Buyei carpets, three types of Anshun kines (kitchen knivers, scissors and parting knives), woodcarvings, imitated paleontological fossils, and pop condies. 

 Shopping in Qiannan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture

The main local products of Qiannan (South Guizhou) Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture include Duyun Maojian tea, horsetail embroidery, rattan articles, bamboo woven products, embroideries, batiks and silver ornaments. 

 Shopping in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture

Qiandongnan (South East Guizhou) Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture has abundant local and special products, such as Yumeng Sour Soup of Kailin, Xiangxi rice of Danzhai County, bamboo aromatic grasses of Majiang County, small pigs of Congjiang, preserved fish of Rongjiang, waxberries of Leishan County, stink bugs of Jianhe County, dried beef of Huangping, and old Taoist dish and Qing wine of Zhenyuan County, in additions to lots of ethnic minority arts and crafts, such as small lushen (a reed-pipe wind instrument), drinking sets made of ox horns, bird cages, and bamboo hats made of horsetails, which have been well received by tourists.  

Main Shopping streets

The Yingpanpo Handicraft Article Market is near the Yingpanpo Minzu Hotel in Zhoufu Road, Kaili, where tourists can find a wide variety of handicrafts, such as batiks, Dong brocades, silver ornaments, and the Miao’s embroideries, cross-stitch works, lusheng, brocade braces with patterns, which are sold at reasonable prices. 

 Shopping in Tongren

With abundant products, Tongren City lies beside the Jinjiang River and is linked with the Yuanjiang River and Dongting Lake. Tongren is a collecting and distributing center of commodities of Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou and Chongqing. It has been known as “a place of strategic importance in East Guizhou”, and the “gate to East Guizhou”. The local products mainly include pearl-shaped peanuts, Chinese gooseberries and tribute rice produced in Huashi Township. 

Main Shopping Streets

The pedestrian street (Leisure Street) in Minzhu Road, Culture Pedestrian Street and Shangdu Tourist Commodity Street in Huanxi Road are the main shopping streets in Tongren.

 Shopping in Bijie

The special products of Bijie include lacquer wares of Dafang, sand wares for daily use of Zhijin, and wine of the Yi people, which has the special ethni minority flavor. In addition, Bijie teems with nutritious walnuts, which are delicious snacks for tourists.

Tourists are suggested gong to the Hengyuan Shopping Plaza in Shengli Road, where the products of domestic and famous brands and Bijie local products are available.
